Preliminary approval for the financing of a $13,190,000 hospital addition and remodeling project was given at last night's Brainerd City Council meeting despite protests from some neighbors on the parking situation.

30 years ago (1972)

A capital fund campaign to raise between $125,000 and $150,000 in Crow Wing and Cass counties has been announced by The Salvation Army. The money will enable The Salvation Army to purchase a new Citadel building in Brainerd.

40 years ago (1962)

Sparked by the surprising return to action of Center Dale Brown and the scintillating guard play of Russ Akre, the Brainerd High School Warriors sent fans diving back to the record books with a crushing 109-59 blitz of visiting Staples Friday.
