AITKIN - "Abstracts in Glass, Paint & Wood," featuring the work of four area artists, will be on display Friday-March 10 at the Jaques Art Center in Aitkin.
A reception will be from 1-4 p.m. Saturday.
Featured artists are watercolorist Keith Thompson, engraver and etcher Deborah Mae Broad and Aitkin glass blowers Kevin and Erik Landsverk.

Zlatic's art on display in Little Falls
LITTLE FALLS - Drawings by Christopher Zlatic are currently on display at the Morrison County Government Center Gallery in Little Falls.
This glass sculpture is among the work now on display at the Jaques Art Center.
A resident of Rice and a graduate of the Perpich Center for the Arts, Zlatic is currently enrolled in the drawing program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Children's art benefit slated Feb. 23
The children's art benefit show, "Celebrate & Support!," will be from 3 p.m.-midnight Feb. 23 at the Eclectic Cafe in downtown Brainerd. The program will include an art show, silent auction, demonstrations, activities and live music.
Admission is $3 for this all-ages event. Proceeds will go to area children's art programs.
Music will be performed by Nate Stevens, Rolling Bubble, the Gloom Chasers and the Castaways.
Art demonstrations will be provided by Tony Powers of Nisswa (airbrush painting), Bridget Riversmith of Duluth (painting) and Cyrus Swann of Pine River (pottery).
Other featured artists will include Sara Powers, painter, Baxter; Terri Chidester, multimedia, Aitkin; R. Edward Lewis, photography and digital manipulation, Brainerd; Michelle Heizelman, jewelry and fabric arts, St. Cloud; Holly Smith, mixed media, Aitkin; Christine Desmond, beading, Brainerd; Tammy Johnson, painter, Nisswa; Tom Moriarty, multimedia, Brainerd; Erika and Medina Hagberg, cob, mural, bead and textile art, Brainerd; Daryn Olson, drawing, Brainerd; Chris Lauer, mixed media, Brainerd; Steven Weagel, metal arts, Pequot Lakes; C.M. Activities will include Henna body art, hair beading, a children's coloring contest, bracelet making and Mandela coloring.

Arts presentations slated in Little Falls
LITTLE FALLS - "The Art of Community Development" will be presented from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls.
The $50 fee includes lunch and refreshments. Registration deadline is Tuesday.
The presentations are aimed at artists, art organizations and anyone interested in improving their community through the arts.
Presenters will include Neal Cuthbert from the McKnight Foundation, Andrew Commers of Artspace, Sharon Rodning Bash of the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and other panelists.
