CROSBY - Unlimited Learning will sponsor the program "History of the Mille Lacs Reservation" with presenter Don Wedll, planner for the Mille Lacs Band, at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Hallett Community Center in Crosby.
In addition to a historical perspective on the Mille Lacs Reservation, Wedll will provide an update on the current life of its people. There will be time for discussion.
Unlimited Learning is a network of local volunteers who determine topics and find speakers. Monthly classes are included in an Unlimited Learning membership along with the multi-session courses.
A course on "Energy Alternatives" will run Feb. 23 and 28 and March 7, covering everything from solar power to wind farms to Gasohol. All sessions start at 1:30 p.m. at the Hallett Community Center in Crosby.
"The Elderquest in Today's Movies and Novels" will begin April 13. This course, which will require advance registration and consistent attendance, will be held on consecutive Thursdays in April (13, 20, 27), May (4, 11, 18, 25) and June (1).
"The History of the Mille Lacs Reservation" and "Energy Alternatives" are included in an Unlimited Learning membership. The pro-rated membership is currently at $30 for an individual and $50 for a family.
