Andrea Luhrs, Brainerd, is performing with the St. Olaf Choir during its eight-state, 19-city winter tour, which began Jan. 27 in Minnesota. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Luhrs.
A soprano, Luhrs and the 75-member choir will perform 20 concerts in Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska and Minnesota, before concluding the tour with a Feb. 18 performance in Boe Memorial Chapel on the Northfield campus.
Two students from Pine River-Backus High School, Anna Wetrosky and Julie Whittemore, were selected to sing in the Minnesota All-State Junior High Honors choir.
Their auditions were selected from hundreds of tapes submitted to the American Choral Directors' Honors Choir Audition Committee.
Wetrosky is the daughter of John and Jackie Wetrosky. Whittemore is the daughter of Mark and Linda Whittemore. They are both ninth-graders at Pine River-Backus High School.
The Junior High Honors' Choir performed Nov. 18 at St. Cloud State University for the ACDA Convention and will perform again Feb. 15 at the Minnesota Music Educators' Mid-Winter Clinic at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The guest conductor for the choir is Sandra Chapman.
