Jackie Arvison participated in one of her first royal acts as Miss Brainerd 1974 this morning, as official ribbon-cutter for the opening of six new drive-in Lanes at the First National Bank of Brainerd.

Franklin Junior High School's eighth- and ninth-grade basketball teams marked up their sixth wins Thursday. Coach Jim Kuelb's eighth-graders winning 53-16 over Aitkin, and Coach Neal Moede's freshmen trampling the Aitkin freshmen 54-39.
