Churches

The Travelers Quartet of St. Cloud will appear in concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Cushing Baptist Church. The Travelers Quartet has been singing in Minnesota churches for more than 32 years. There is no charge for the concert but a freewill offering will be received. A coffee hour will follow the concert.

Catholic School Week

The St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School celebrated Catholic School Week this week.

Students dressed up for "Wacky Wednesday." The fifth- and sixth-graders played floor hockey. Thursday was red, white and blue day with the school's annual religion bee. Today was '50s day with a sock hop after school. Seventh-graders and the staff competed in volleyball.

'War and Peace'

The "War and Peace" adult forum will be at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at Brainerd's First Congregational United Church of Christ. Pastor Deb Celley will lead a discussion on the broad sweep of historical Christian thought concerning the nation's tension arising between those who demonstrate for peace and those who think that doing so is treasonous. Refreshments will be available before the discussion in the downstairs fellowship hall.
