MINNEAPOLIS -- Reinhold Lewis Lind, 75, Minneapolis, formerly of Garrison, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born Jan. 20, 1927, in St. Paul to Rubin and Alma Lind. He attended Sheridan Grade School, St. John's Lutheran and Harding High School in St. Paul. He married Ruby A. Lemke on Feb. 14, 1949, in St. Paul. He was in the Navy from 1943-1946. He worked at Whirlpool Corp. for more than 35 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Maplewood. He was an archery instructor in Maple Grove for more than 17 years. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Garrison. He was a member of the Shepard of the Lakes Church where he taught Sunday school and was a past president and elder. He was a member of the Men's Club and was AAL Branch No. 1021 treasurer. He was the finance chairman of the Family of Christ Lutheran School in Baxter. He was the past president of the Garrison Senior Citizen's Club.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Otto Lind; a daughter, Kathleen A. Moyer; and three grandchildren.
His parents; his wife, Ruby A. Lind; a brother, Otto J. Lind; and two sisters, Violet V. McCall and Patricia M. Ross, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Shepard of the Lakes Church in Garrison with the Rev. Curtis Foreman officiating. Burial will be in Garrison City Cemetery with military honors provided by Garrison VFW Post No. 1816.
Friends may call two hours before services Saturday at the church.
