Lawrence James Dill, 73, Brainerd, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in Fargo, N.D.
He was born April 12, 1928, in Crete, N.D., to Bert and Clara (Kraig) Dill. He graduated from Oaks. He married Mae West in 1954. He farmed and worked at Melroe in Gwinner, N.D. They moved to St. Paul in the early 1960s. He married Annamae "Gloria" Harkins on June 24, 1965, in St. Paul. They lived in Roseville where he worked in construction and was a member of the carpenter's union. They moved to Brainerd when they retired 10 years ago and spent their winters in Apache Junction, Ariz.
Survivors include two daughters, Carmen Parks, Sidney, Mont., and Marcy Froemel, St. Paul; five sons, Larry Dill, Sidney, Mont., Gary Dill, Big Lake, Bill Harkins, Vadnais Heights, Gene Harkins, Vadnais Heights, and Chet Harkins, Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Marge Eschenbacher, Baxter, Irene Larson, Verona, N.D., and Lorene Woodward, Billings, Mo.; and a brother, DuWayne Dill, Crete, N.D.
His first wife; his second wife; two sons, Michael Harkins and Craig Dill; and his parents died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Brenny Funeral Home in Baxter with the Rev. Rory Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
