PEQUOT LAKES -- The senior van program provides transportation for area seniors Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for shopping and medical appointments in the Pequot Lakes area, as well as Brainerd.
In order for this service to function, the program depends on volunteer drivers and coordinators. Currently, the program has the following needs:
-- Drivers, especially for runs from Pequot Lakes on Tuesdays and Fridays. Call Judy Maas at 692-3300 for more information.
-- Pequot Lakes area coordinator, who schedules drivers and trips from the Pequot Lakes area.
-- Senior van program coordinator, who works to coordinate the total program in cooperation with Pequot Lakes Community Education. This person would recruit drivers and riders for the program, and work to increase program availability and special trips. This person would coordinate the work of Crosslake and Pequot Lakes area coordinators.
Help is needed to keep the system functioning and to make it do more for seniors.
For more information call Dan Frank at 568-9200 or Judy Maas at 692-3300.
