Brainerd High School and Central Lakes College graduate Angie Swanson scored 33 points but the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles women's basketball team lost 83-55 to Bemidji State in NSIC play Saturday night.
Swanson was 14 of 30 from the field, and grabbed 10 rebounds in 38 minutes. The Golden Eagles fell to 0-11 in the NSIC, 0-19 overall.
Serpent Lake ice marathon Feb. 5
The Cuyuna Range Chamber of Commerce Ice Fishing Marathon on Serpent Lake is scheduled Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Tickets are $5 per hole, with a two-hole limit per person. Tickets may be purchased from the chamber office, Oars-N-Mine Bait and Tackle or on the ice Feb. 5.
Ticket holders are eligible to win grand prizes of a $1,000 ice fishing package (donated by Crosby Fire Department, Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Oars-N-Mine and Caribou Canvas); a Ruttger's weekend (donated by Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge and Hansen's Sports); a Strikemaster auger (donated by Strikemaster); and $100 cash (donated by Northern, Inc.)
Fish prizes to be awarded include $200, $100 and $50 for northern, walleye and sunfish. DNR regulations will be followed.

Racquet lessons at Premier Fitness
Racquetball lessons, sponsored by Premier Fitness (formally the Wellness Center) and Baxter Parks and Recreation Department, are scheduled at Premier Fitness.
Lessons are designed for youths in kindergarten through fifth grade. Sessions begin at 11 a.m., end at noon and run from Feb. 5 through March 4.
Proper grip, forehand, serving, rules, backhand and safety will be discussed. Racquets will be provided for youngsters who don't have one. Angela Roby and Mark and Rosie Prince will be the instructors.
