She loves to play softball and work out at the YMCA doing yoga and pilates. Sarah's future plans are to attend Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in July and pursue a career as a chef. She would like to open and manage her own fine-dining restaurant someday.

A team of curlers from the Brainerd Lakes Curling Association won the inaugural New Club state championship sponsored by the Minnesota Curling Association.

Cierra participates in tennis, track and karate. She enjoys running, swimming and writing and is enrolled in a journalism class. She plans to major in journalism in college to publish her own books and write for a favorite magazine. She also may join the Peace Corps.
The crowning jewel of the jubilee
The Nisswa Area Women of Today will kick off the 2008 Nisswa Winter Jubilee by hosting the Miss Nisswa Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.

Heather's interests are horseback riding, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, boating, running and playing volleyball and basketball. She also likes cooking, playing mini golf, reading and working at Bethany Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She plans to study in the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Central Lakes College. Following that, she would like to get into a Registered Nursing program.

CROSBY - Calling it a "miracle" and a new start for the district, Crosby-Ironton School Board Chair Bob Sandin said Monday the board has reached an agreement to settle the 2007-09 teachers' contract with Education Minnesota Crosby-Ironton, the first negotiated contract since the 2005 C-I teachers' strike.

Can someone out there please clarify the new attendance boundaries map? I am a young (30-something) highly educated adult and I cannot make any sense of that map. Are you purposely trying to confuse us? It would've been nice for the map to be large and clearer with easily recognizable and legibly labeled roads, intersections, etc. As a parent, it breaks my heart to think my children may be forced to be uprooted from their friends and the "comfortableness" of their current school unfortunately due to the poorly constructed map, my questions regarding attendance boundaries still remain unanswered.
