Six drug arrests made in Brainerd

The Brainerd Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division officers arrested six people on drug charges after executing two search warrants Tuesday at separate residences in Brainerd, Brainerd Police Chief John Bolduc reported.

The first arrests were at a residence in the 500 block of 16th Street Southeast. LADID officers, executing a search warrant, seized a fully operational methamphetamine lab and an undisclosed amount of cash at the residence.

Three men, ages 26, 27 and 32, were arrested. The matter has been forwarded to the Crow Wing County attorney's office with recommended charges of first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, purchasing precursor items to make methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

The second drug bust Tuesday happened at an apartment in the 700 block of Laurel Street. LADID officers, executing a search warrant, seized about 40 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated value of $8,000. A firearm and $834 in cash also were found.

Three people, a 23-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman, were arrested. The matter has been forwarded to the Crow Wing County attorney's office with recommended charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department and the Brainerd Police Department assisted in the investigations.
