Residential customers of CenterPoint Energy Minne-gasco can expect to pay 15 percent more for their heating bills compared to last year, but the rate is expected to be slightly lower than January's rate.
CenterPoint Energy Min-negasco's billing price for residential customers is 85 cents per therm. Assuming normal weather conditions for the remainder of the heating season, the average Minnegasco residential customer is expected to see an annual bill (August through July) of about $980, compared to $880 last year, an increase of about 11 percent.
Budget plan customers could see an adjustment of their monthly quote in the next billing cycle based on their actual natural gas use this year. Most customers will likely see no changes or modest changes to their original quote.
Minnegasco reported the national storage situation has improved significantly since last summer and is currently ahead of the five-year average.
