Country group Diamond Rio to perform in Hinckley
HINCKLEY -- Diamond Rio, a band that was part of the "young country" movement of the 1990s and gained fame for its #1 hit "Beautiful Mess" and chart-topper "One More Day," will play two shows at the Grand Casino Hinckley Events & Convention Center at 7 and 9 p.m. March 6.

In the late 1980s, six musicians who came to Nashville from different parts of the nation to make a name for themselves in country music met and formed Diamond Rio. The band won six Vocal Group of the Year awards, earned seven Grammy nominations and had 23 top 10 country hits, including 15 top 5 singles and seven #1 hits.
All of the band's studio albums have been gold or platinum sellers and in 1997, it was the only group to hold Billboard's No. 1 spot for three consecutive weeks with its hit "How Your Love Makes Me Feel."
In 1998, the band was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, the first band in 14 years to earn that distinction.
