Girl Scouts host annual meeting this weekend

BAXTER - The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines will host its annual meeting and recognition celebration Thursday through Saturday at The Lodge in Baxter.

A reception will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Sands Ballroom at The Lodge and it will be open to the public and serves as an opportunity to meet girls and adult members from around the Lakes and Pines service area in northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. The annual meeting will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday where the Girl Scouts will pay homage to the history of Girl Scouts while sharing visions for the future of the nearly century-old organization, which aims to help girls build leadership skills. A luncheon and recognition celebration will continue the day's events where girls who earned the organization's top awards over the past year will be honored.
