Kixters win conference

The Brainerd Kixters finished first in three divisions and clinched the conference title Sunday in Alexandria.

In the jazz funk division, a cumulative points scoring system was used by the judges to determine the standings. The Brainerd Varsity Jazz Funk team finished in first place with a score of 408 points. St. Cloud Tech was second with 383 points, Bemidji was third with 293 points and Alexandria finished in fourth with 250 points. The Brainerd Junior Varsity did not compete in the jazz funk division.

In the varsity high kick division, a ranking scoring system was used by the judges to determine the standings. With this system, the team with the lowest score wins. The Brainerd Varsity High Kick team placed first with 4 points. St. Cloud Tech came in second with 5 points, St. Cloud Apollo was third with 10 points, Bemidji placed fourth with 15 points, and Alexandria was fifth with 18 points.

In junior varsity high kick division, a cumulative points scoring system was used by the judges to determine standings. The Brainerd Junior Varsity High Kick team placed first with 308 points, Willmar placed second with 261 points and Bemidji was third with 204 points.
