Gophers score WCHA win

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) --Aaron Miskovich scored the game-winning goal in the second period, and John Pohl scored twice on power plays to lead Minnesota past Minnesota State 3-2 Friday night.

Miskovich's game-winner came as the Golden Gophers (12-11-2, 8-7-2 WCHA) were shorthanded with 3:44 left in the second.

St. Cloud State 8, Minnesota-Duluth 0

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Scott Meyer earned a school-record fourth shutout, and Nate DiCasmirro and Brandon Sampair each scored two goals Friday night to help St. Cloud State beat Minnesota-Duluth 8-0.

Meyer had to make just 20 saves for the Huskies (14-8-1, 10-6-1 WCHA), who scored four goals in the final period.

North Dakota 5, Michigan Tech 0

HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) -- Lee Goren recorded a hat trick and Karl Goehring stopped all 29 shots he faced as North Dakota defeated Michigan Tech 5-0 Friday night.

The Fighting Sioux (17-6-2, 12-5-2 WCHA) scored their first three goals on the power play.

Denver 2, Alaska Anchorage 2 (OT)

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Freshman goaltender Cory McEachran recorded a team season-high 43 saves in helping Alaska Anchorage salvage a 2-2 overtime tie with Denver in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game Friday night.
