Aitkin Rental Center earns award

The Aitkin Rental Center, owned by Vern and Terry Watters, has been named 1999 Outstanding Business of the Year by the Aitkin Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Watters were recognized for their outstanding commitment to the community through their involvement in several service organizations and economic development efforts. They were also cited for bringing over a dozen new members to the Chamber in 1999.

Wolds earn achievement award

Roger and Georgiana Wold have been presented with the Warren Potter Lifetime Achievement Award by the Aitkin Chamber of Commerce. The award, given annually, is named for one of Aitkin's first and leading entrepreneurs.

The Wold's owned and operated the MacDonald-Wold car dealership in Aitkin from from 1960 to September 1999.

Family physician earns recertification

James Alan Gelbmann, MD, Brainerd, was recently recertified as Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice (ABFP).

Family physicians earn diplomate status by passing the ABFP's certification exam; an intense written test of a physician's knowledge over many fields of medicine.

Carson receives chamber honor

LITTLE FALLS -- The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce has named Sandra Carson as the February employee of the month.

Carson is a special education teacher in the Little Falls School District. She works at Lindbergh Elementary.
