Central Lakes College will host free mini sports clinics for girls in the Brainerd campus gymnasium from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 6

The free National Girls and Women in Sports Day event will allow girls ages 4 through fourth grade to participate in short activities at four stations. Each clinic will be directed by CLC student athletes.

All participants should arrive 15 minutes ahead of the clinic for their age group to register. Each participant will receive free admission to the Raiders' final regular-season home basketball games against Vermilion. The women's game is at 1 p.m., the men's game at 3 p.m.

The mini clinic schedule:

9-10 a.m., ages 4 through grade 1.

10-11 a.m., grades 2-4.

Ski Gull girls compete

Four girls from the Ski Gull Alpine Club won titles in the fourth race of the Northland Junior Race Series Sunday at Ski Gull.

Paige Lee won the 5-under division, Emma Heibert was first in 6-7, Molly Aga was first in 14-15 and Kenzey Ostrowski won the 16-up title.

Girls 5-Under: Paige Lee 1st

Girls 6-7: Emma Heibert 1st; Allison Krantz 2nd, Bo Erholtz 3rd

Girls 8-9: Grace McGuire 4th; Payge Fitterer 8th

Girls 10-11: Addison McGuire 3rd

Freshmen beat Little Falls

Brainerd defeated Little Falls 54-44 in a battle of unbeaten teams in conference play in freshmen boys' basketball Monday.

Jacob Blong had 13 points and Ian Haug 12 for Brainerd, which also received eight from Marcus Comstock, seven from Jack Sauer and four from Tony Sauer.
