WALKER - A multi-agency emergency response rescue exercise will be conducted from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday on Cass Lake.
It is the ninth year of the exercise, sponsored by the Cass County Sheriff's Department and the Cass Lake Fire Department.
Last year 25 agencies and 150 people participated in the exercise. The goal is to bring area agencies together to work with equipment, view new purchases of equipment and develop good working relationships.
Exercises on Saturday include dive scenarios, mock snowmobile crash, K-9 assisted recovery of a victim under the ice and classes, including basic GPS and cold water rescue technician certification.
The first group briefing will take place just after 8 a.m. at the access of Cass Lake, near the new rest area on U.S. Highway 2 just east of Cass Lake.
