The Central Lakes Conference has named two Brainerd Warriors and two Little Falls Flyers performers of the week ending Jan. 24.
Rebecca Mueller, Nordic skiing, Brainerd, placed fourth out of 75 skiers at the Alexandria Invitational and helped her team to first place.
Josiah Collins, swimming, Brainerd, won three individual events and was on three first-place relays in two victories.
Ted Wilczek, wrestling, Little Falls, won 119-pound titles in the Little Falls and Bemidji tournaments.
Tim Wasland, Nordic skiing, Little Falls, had his best time (23:36) at the Alexandria Invitational and won the Power Ridge Invitational.
Madden's honored as best golf resort
Madden's on Gull Lake was selected "Best Golf Resort in Minnesota" by the Minnesota Meetings and Events Editorial Advisory Board at its Jan. 22 meeting at the Depot in Minneapolis.
The MME Editorial Advisory Board consists of meeting planners, special events coordinators, and hospitality industry executives.
Zemke to speak to boosters club
Brainerd Warriors swimming and diving coach John Zemke will be the speaker at the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club meeting, which begins noon Thursday at the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen located behind the Triangle Store and Temple Baptist Church on Oak Street.
Swimmer Andrew Mehr, the Warrior Athlete of the Week, will be honored.
Duda places 15th in biathlon event
Josh Duda of Brainerd finished 15th in the Central Region National Guard Biathlon championships Friday at Mt. Itasca near Coleraine. His time was one hour, 30 seconds.
JV girls pull out win
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity girls' basketball team downed Sartell 55-46 Tuesday behind Erica Austin's 11 points and Ashleigh Hakes' 10.
Sophomore girls lose by one
Danielle Vickerman scored 13 points and Danielle Uphoff 11 as the Brainerd Warriors sophomore girls' basketball team was edged by Sartell 44-43.
