State Rep. Greg Blaine, R-Little Falls, will conduct a series of town meetings in February to allow residents to voice their opinions.
The town meeting schedule is:
Saturday -- 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Old Bank, Pierz; 11 to 11:30 a.m. the Blue Goose, Garrison; and 12:15 to 1 p.m. Baxter City Hall.
Feb. 7 -- 8 to 9 a.m. Little Falls Senior Center.
Feb. 9 -- 9 to 9:30 a.m. Swanville Library; 10 to 10:30 a.m. Randall Cafe; 11 to 11:30 a.m. The Landing, Cushing; noon to 12:30 p.m. Northwoods Cafe, Pillager; 1 to 1:30 p.m. El Ray Truck Stop, Motley.
Kinkel to host ATV session in
State Sen. Tony Kinkel, DFL-Park Rapids, will conduct a legislative hearing at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Bungo Town Hall to allow concerned citizens to share their views about the use of all-terrain vehicles.
"ATVs have been a hot topic among Cass County residents," Kinkel said, "and opinions are naturally mixed as to what's on and off limits."
The DNR, local landowners and several ATV users are scheduled to attend.
Bungo Town Hall is on County Road 25, southwest of Pine River. From Pine River, take County Road 2 west six miles, then take County Road 25 south for four miles.
BHS competitive cheer team takes third
The Brainerd High School competitive cheer team placed third out of seven teams in the small varsity division at the Winterfest competitive cheer team competition Saturday at De La Salle High School in Minneapolis.
Thirty-six cheer teams, mainly from the Twin Cities metro area, competed at the event.
to meet Thursday
The Brainerd Public Utilities Commission will meet 3 p.m. Thursday at 1151 Highland Scenic Drive. The meeting agenda includes a public hearing to discuss the utility's electric, water and waste treatment rate increases that were effective Jan. 1.
Extension committee to meet Tuesday
The Crow Wing County Extension Committee will meet 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Crow Wing County Social Service building.
