Roy Sandberg

CENTERVILLE, Iowa -- Roy Sandberg, 56, Centerville, Iowa, formerly of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born Dec. 29, 1947, in Brainerd to Roy and Edna (Hill) Sandberg. He was a former manager of the S and L Store in Brainerd and was transferred to Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from Centerville High School and Truman State University. He served in the Army during Vietnam. He began teaching school in 1970 and taught at Centerville High School from 1975 until this past year.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Sharp, Denver; and two sons, Dan, Knoxville, Iowa, and Jason, Centerville, Iowa; five grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Stoffer, Ankeny, Iowa.

His parents died earlier.

Services were at Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa, with burial in Hanes Cemetery.
