20 years ago (1987)

Sno-Daze at Crosby-Ironton High School is the week of Feb. 24 with the theme, "That was then - this is now." Chairperson for the event is Barb Neprud, and the C-I Student Council is sponsoring the event.

30 years ago (1977)

Two Brainerd students, Steve Dahl and Scott Humrickhouse, are members of the Luther College Nordic Choir that will appear in Brainerd on Feb. 2.

40 years ago (1967)

Jim Thompson was presented with the Exchange Club's lifesaving medal here yesterday. Thompson is credited with saving the life of little Joseph Smart. The boy was hidden in some bedclothes when the fire broke out. Thompson found him and rushed him outside and revived him with mouth to mouth rescue breathing.

60 years ago (1947)

Col. E.B. Miller, former commander of the 194th Tank battalion, handed over activation duties of the Battalion to Lt. Col. Carl Erickson, former anti-aircraft artillery and AMG officer and National Guard.

80 years ago (1927)

Bus traffic to Crosby was at a standstill for several hours today due to a large snowdrift of over six feet in height blocking the road three miles out of Crosby.
