WELCH -- The Brainerd Warriors will compete in the 26th annual Hastings-Welch Village Invitational, the nation's largest co-ed high school alpine ski meet, Friday at Welch Village Ski Area.
Participants include 531 student racers from 46 high schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Students will race in a competitive format of two teams made up of six boys/girls. Each team will then be subdivided into two squads and race in both independent and co-dependent slalom events. Morning events are at 9:30 a.m. and afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
Trophies and individual medals will be awarded to the top five boys' and girls' teams. Medals will be given to the top three individual finishers per squad. A co-ed traveling trophy will be awarded to the school with the highest total combined points.

Highest combined points-traveling trophy -- Apple Valley/Eagan/Rosemount.
Boys -- St. Thomas Academy, Woodbury, Apple Valley/Eagan/Rosemount, LaCrosse Central, The Blake School
Girls -- Stillwater/Benilde-St. Margaret's, Hastings, Brainerd, Apple Valley/Eagan/Rosemount.
Results will be posted on the Internet immediately after the race at www.welchvillage.com.
