SAUK RAPIDS - Four players scored in double figures to lead the Brainerd Warrior girls' basketball team to a 72-43 victory over Sauk Rapids in Central Lakes Conference play Tuesday.
Emily Thesing scored 24 points, Karlye Barron 13, Megan Bates 12 and Kayla Huether 11 as Brainerd improved to 11-4 overall.
The Warriors outrebounded Sauk Rapids 36-24 as Barron grabbed 11 and Bates nine.
"We started out kind of slow," Warriors coach Carl Hendrickson said. "We really weren't playing very good defense. In the second half we talked about playing a little bit more contain defense and did a good job of that.
"We rebounded well. We had a size advantage and tried to take advantage of that.
"We shot the ball pretty well. I don't know what-for-what but we shot decently and that helped. And, we had good balance in our scoring."
