"Through the generosity of our community we are awarding nearly $285,000 in student scholarships during 2009-10."
Each year the foundation serves at least 350 students.
During fall semester nearly $25,000 in Random Acts of Kindness awards - for emergency and book assistance - were awarded to students with need. "This is beyond the $285,000 provided to students through scholarships," Scearcy said.
