Crow Wing County Triad, which represents a three-way partnership between area seniors, law enforcement and the community as a whole, is hosting a meeting aimed at helping protect people from scams and cons.
Triad's main focus is to work together to reduce criminal victimization of the elderly through education and better delivery of law enforcement services.
The session is planned from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 4 at Heartwood Senior Living Community, 500 Heartwood Drive, Crosby, one block east of the Crosby Eye Clinic.
Refreshments will be provided.
Participants who have an old, unused cell phone are invited to bring it to the event to donate. Phones are refurbished. Triad provides cell phones for economically disadvantaged adults who do not have a home phone. The cell phone works exclusively with 911 in case of an emergency.
