American Legion Post 255 of Brainerd presented 20 U.S. flags to Lincoln School in Brainerd for use in classrooms. Legion members involved were Herb Stunek, Cliff Bock and Buzz Bereuter, members of the color guard.

Art Brandt, who retired recently as chief of the Brainerd Police Department Reserves, was honored for 13 years of service at a retirement party.

Brainerd school pupils get their first real taste of instrumental music in the fourth grade. At this level, says Fred Holmquist, elementary instrumental music instructor, all students receive classroom instruction on the flutophone, a pre-band instrument.

Among those from Brainerd who attended the Imgrund-Copa wedding in Little Falls were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Imgrund and children, James, Jacqueline and Teddy and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Imgrund.

Driving north on Highway No. 19 one notices a number of side roads that have been cleared of the snow by county equipment. The old days are passing, those days when a heavy snow blockaded the farm community and prevented that free circulation of travels between town and countryside.
