Nels Danielson of Brainerd and Josh Goble of Baxter competed in the Drummers Diesel 100 USCC cross country snowmobile races Minto, N.D., last weekend.

Danielson, on a Ski-Doo was second in the 440 class.

Goble was third in semi-pro 600 and sixth in pro open, also on a Ski-Doo.

Sophomores 14-0

The Brainerd Warrior sophomore boys' basketball team improved to 14-0 with two wins at the Sauk Rapids Invitational on Saturday.

In its first game Brainerd defeated St. Michael-Albertville 46-42 as Ben Gervais had 16 points and TJ Struss 10.

Brainerd beat Sauk Rapids 61-40 in the second round as Jon Wiese scored 13 points, Devin Larson nine, Gervais eight and Nick Boetcher seven.

The championship game is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sauk Rapids High School.

On Friday, Brainerd beat Alexandria 54-45 as Gervais scored 27 points, Struss nine and Sam Feyder eight.

Ski Gull racers compete

Twelve Ski Gull racers competed in a Northland Junior Race Series event Sunday at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
