Melissa Roberts and Jessie Van Vickle each scored 14 points for the Huskies.
Raya Kern led Verndale with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

WADENA -- The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines couldn't overcome a sluggish second quarter as they lost to the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder 43-46 in non-conference girls' basketball Tuesday.
After leading 17-13 in the first quarter, W-DC managed four points in the second quarter and fell behind 24-21 at halftime.
The Wolverines were paced by Kerby Johnson's 25 points.

PIERZ -- Shiela Stegora, Becky Korf and Allyson Kloss all recorded double-doubles for Pierz but the Pioneers came up short in a 76-68 loss to the Kimball Cubs in Central Minnesota Conference action Tuesday.
Stegora had 22 points and 11 rebounds, Korf 16 points and 10 boards and Kloss 12 points and 12 rebounds.
"Both teams shot the ball well," Pierz coach Rick Sczublewski said. "The difference in the game was Kimball hit key shots in the fourth quarter when they needed them, particularly Tammy Kuechle.
"We erased a 15-point third-quarter lead down to 63-61 in the fourth. We did not hit the key shots when we needed them."
Emily Stumpf added 13 points for the Pioneers.
