WALKER -- Cass County spent $65,411.43 for jail inmate health services last year.
County health services nurses provided $22,488.88 worth of care to inmates at the jail. Another $18,893.96 was spent on medical supplies. Health care provided at other facilities such as clinics and hospitals ran $24,028.59.
Costs for health care at other facilities ran the highest last year in May when the county spent $5,926.22 for inmate services at clinics and hospitals.
Inmates paid the county $1,205.26 toward their health care.
