WINFIELD, Ill. - Aloise "Al" Yorek, age 76, formerly of Crosslake, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at DuPage Central Hospital in Winfield, Ill.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. Interment will be at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. Memorials are preferred to a charity of the donor's choice.
Aloise Victor Yorek was born Nov. 30, 1930, in Bowlus, to John and Anne (Bogorski) Yorek. He grew up and attended school in Harding. He was united in marriage to Arna Johnson on April 10, 1952, in Minneapolis. He lived and worked in Bloomington until 1961. He moved to Brainerd for a short time, and then to Crosslake, where he owned and operated Crosslake Auto and Carwash. He retired to Aurora, Ill., in 2002 after living in Crosslake for 39 years.
Aloise is survived by Arna, his wife of nearly 55 years; children, Mark (Gloria) Yorek, Coralville, Iowa, Debbie (Kevin) Mackey, Aurora, Ill., Mary (Alvin) Halaas, Baxter, and Barbara (Mitch) Erickson, North Aurora, Ill.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dick (Judy) Yorek, Grant Pass, Ore., and Maryann (Steve) Gangl, Royalton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Sandra and Theresa; two sisters; and one brother.
Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
