20 years ago (1987)

The Brainerd Fourth of July parade apparently has marched off into the sunset without so much as a Roman Candle send off. The parade has been dropped from this year's July 4 plans.

30 years ago (1977)

Jim Dano of Nisswa had just over a two-minute lead heading into today's second leg of the International 500 snowmobile race from St. Paul to Winnipeg.

40 years ago (1967)

At Nisswa's fishing marathon on Round Lake fishing was termed "excellent" with more than 1,000 reported participating in the event staged by the Lakeshore Rod and Gun Club.

60 years ago (1947)

Ladies "A" Bowling League. A new high three-game total of 542 for the league was rolled last night as Roberta Dybvick smashed out lines of 166, 183, and 193.

80 years ago (1927)

Playing last night before hundreds of desperate fans in a game that was nobody's game until the final whistle Brainerd snatched a 16-15 victory from Little Falls.

100 years ago (1907)

Not withstanding three other dances, the theatres, two shows and other attractions, the Court of Honor drew a large attendance at their dance in Odd Fellow's Hall last night.
