Melissa Wentworth, daughter of Steve and Sue Wentworth, Brainerd, has been accepted to Minnesota State University-Moorhead. She plans to major in photography.
Jared Goerges, son of Jim and LaLeen Goerges, Merrifield, and Robert Lee, son of Larry and Chris Lee, Baxter, have been accepted at Alexandria Technical College. Goerges will enter the marine and small engine mechanic program and Lee will enter the mechanical drafting, design and engineering program.
The Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association Foundation has awarded scholarships to future leaders enrolled in nursery or landscape studies programs. The scholarships are co-sponsored by local landscape businesses. Landsburg Landscape Nursery, Brainerd, sponsored scholarships for Scott Hoffman, a student at the University of Minnesota- Crookston, and Andrew DeSaer, a student at Central Lakes College. Lakeside Lawn and Landscape, Pequot Lakes, sponsored a scholarship for CLC student Maria Rauch. Scenic Specialties Landscape Center, St. Joseph, sponsored a scholarship for CLC student Nathan Stange, and Terrain Solutions, Crosslake, sponsored a scholarship for CLC student, Joseph Hix. The MNLA scholarship program recognizes superior students enrolled in horticultural, nursery or landscape studies programs at area colleges and universities.
Joel Kingsley, seventh grade, and Shae Johnson, eighth grade, were awarded Personal Success Awards at Forestview Middle School.
Jeff Sands, Brainerd, is a member of the Bemidji State University Red Line Swingers for the 2006-2007 academic school year. Sands plays the euphonium and is a junior majoring in accounting. The Red Line Swingers are a group of musicians that plays as a pep band at sporting events and other BSU functions.

Miles Krueger, Brainerd, has been named to the fall semester dean's list at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dana Knutson, Pequot Lakes, and Matt Fraser, Crosslake, are the recipients of $1,000 scholarships awarded by the Crosslake Game and Fish Club. Both have completed their first year of college. Knutson attends Central Lakes College and is majoring in nursing. Fraser attends the University of Minnesota-Duluth and is majoring in pharmacy.
Rebekeh Wicklund, daughter of Todd and Shaina Wicklund, has received a $1,500 President's Honor Scholarship from Minnesota State University-Moorhead. She plans to major in art.
Pinchat Chatpaitoon, a graduate of Central Lakes College, has been named to the fall semester dean's list at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. She is a junior majoring in accounting.
