PARK RAPIDS -- Mardell D. Ford, 68, Park Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids.
She was born Sept. 30, 1933, in Brainerd to Joseph and Irene (Vogt) Fleischacker. She married Lloyd Pickar on Sept. 30, 1950, in Brainerd. They had three children. They moved to Minneapolis. She married Dayton F. Ford on June 3, 1972, in Watertown, S.D. They lived in Minneapolis until 1988 when they retired to Menahga. They moved to Hubbard in 1996. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Park Rapids.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dennis Pickar, Nimrod, and Jerry Pickar, Brainerd; a daughter, Theresa Torgerson, Menahga; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Lyons, Brainerd; and four brothers, Frank, Kent, Wash., Leroy, Redmond, Wash., Donald, Idaho, and David Fleischacker, Brainerd.
Her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Virgil; a grandson; and her first husband, died earlier.
Services were today at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Park Rapids with the Rev. Arlen Holerud officiating. Burial was in Camp Ripley Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Arrangements were with Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids.
