HILLMAN -- Burneze B. Krefve, 85, Hillman, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls.
She was born May 9, 1914, in Little Falls to Ben and Belle McGuire. She grew up and attended school in Little Falls, graduating with the class of 1934. She attended Brady and Rogers Beauty School from 1935 to 1936. She worked in Anoka from 1939 to 1941 and in Minneapolis from 1941 to 1945. She married William Krefve on Sept. 7, 1939, in Little Falls at the Congregational Church. They lived in Minneapolis from 1941 to 1945. They moved to Hillman in 1945 and reopened Krefve General Store, which her husband's parents owned. She operated her Beauty Shop out of the corner store in Hillman from 1945 until her retirement in 1970. They started raising waterfowl at their home following retirement. She performed many hours of community volunteer work at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Adult Leisure Club of Hillman, and Senior Council of Aging, in which she was president and council member.
Survivors include her husband, two sisters, Rose Weiss, Little Falls, and Leona Press, New Hope.
Five brothers, Eugene, George, Ronald, Frank, and Elmer McGuire, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz with the Rev. Lynn Broughton officiating.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls.
