Anna Hedlund
PINE RIVER -- Anna Hedlund, 95, Pine River, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at the Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village.
She was born April 19, 1904, in Great Falls, Mont., to Axel and Bertha (Workcamp) Pherson. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to the Fargo-Moorhead area where she grew up and attended school. She married Willard Harry Williams in 1931 and had a son and a daughter. Williams died in 1933. She worked as a housekeeper until her marriage to Carl Hedlund on Oct. 22, 1938, when she joined him at his farm in Hallock. He died in 1964. She worked as a nanny in the Fargo-Moorhead area until poor health forced her to retire.
Survivors include two sons, Willard Williams, Crookston, Carl Hedlund, Nebraska; a daughter, Edie Jenell Nelson, Pine River; a sister, Beatrice Morken, Pelican Rapids; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Northland Funeral Home in Pine River. Burial will be in Hallock in the spring. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice, or the Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River.
