Willmar bests LF gymnasts

WILLMAR -- The Willmar gymnastics team defeated the Little Falls Flyers 142.3-109.85 in Central Lakes Conference action Tuesday.

Willmar swept all the events, with Jenny Quick taking first on bars, floor exercise, and in the All-around. Emily Esse placed first on the beam, and Lacey Kleist landed in first place in the vault.

The Flyers' Jessie Ylitalo was the top gymnast taking sixth in the all-around with a score of 31.1

Uneven parallel bars -- 1-Jenny Quick (W) 9.10, 6-Jessie Ylitalo 6.55

Balance beam -- 1-Emily Esse (W) 9.5, 6-Ylitalo 8.2

Floor exercise -- 1-Quick (W) 9.3, 6-Ylitalo 7.55

Vault -- 1-Lacey Kleist (W) 8.65, 6-Ylitalo 8.80

All-around -- 1- Quick (W) 36.75, 5-Ylitalo (LF) 31.1

Next meet -- Little Falls hosts Wadena-Deer Creek Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Detroit Lakes 131.5, Wadena-Deer Creek 111

DETROIT LAKES -- The Detroit Lakes Lakers gymnastics team defeated the Wadena-Deer Creak Wolverines 131.5-111 in Mid State Conference action Tuesday.

Wolverine Vicky Snyder placed first on the balance beam with a score of 8.4. In the all-around, Stephanie Geiser placed fourth and Brittany Anderson placed fifth.

Uneven parallel bars -- 1-Heather Harris (DL) 8.75, 6-Randi Trosen (WDC) 7.05

Balance beam -- 1-Vicky Snyder (WDC) 8.4, 5-Stephanie Geiser (WDC) 7.45

Floor exercise -- 1-Kelly Seaworth (DL) 9.35, 4-Geiser (WDC) 8.0, 6-Vicky Snyder (WDC) 7.7

Vault -- 1-Seaworth (DL) 8.75, 6-Kelsey Johnston (WDC) 78.55

All-around -- 1-Angie Rusness (DL) 32.8, 4-Geiser (WDC) 29.45, 5-Brittany Anderson (WDC) 24.55
