Brainerd School Board committees to meet

The Brainerd School Board has scheduled the following committee meetings:

The school board facilities committee will meet at noon Thursday. Agenda items include Oscar Kristofferson Park property request by the city of Baxter, Discovery Woods Charter School request, Franklin Arts Center auditorium agreement, College Drive update and any other business that may come before the board.

The school board curriculum/student activities committee at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 26. Agenda items include Brainerd Lakes Area Development Corp. (BLADC) with Sheila Haverkamp; a gifted and talented study update; curriculum development, an overview of the process; and adequate yearly progress plan and goals update.

The school board legislative committee will meet at noon Jan. 28. Agenda items include funding for the current biennium; teacher settlement penalty; fuel requirements of bus companies, biodiesel; funding formulas; and other items.

The school board personnel committee will meet in closed session at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 29 for the purpose of contract negotiations strategy discussions.

A school board curriculum/student activities committee meeting is planned for 11:30 a.m. Feb. 9. Agenda includes a gifted and talented update.

All meetings take place in the board room at Washington Educational Services Building.
