GRAND RAPIDS, (AP) -- A paper mill here will shut down for a week, resulting in layoffs.
UPM-Kymmene/Blandin Paper Company is shutting down Jan. 24 due to economic conditions. The plant will resume production Jan. 31.
"The shutdown is solely due to poor market conditions and the lack of paper orders. We will gladly reverse the decision and resume operations with new paper orders," said business manager James Kent.
