Delwin F. Theisen, 86, Brainerd, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at St. Joseph's Medical Center of Brainerd.
He was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Bozeman, Mont., to Frank and Jenny (Brick) Theisen. He graduated from a Bozeman area high school. He married Chelsea Ford on Oct. 21, 1935, in Bozeman. He farmed in the area and worked as a heavy equipment operator in Alaska, Montana and Arizona. They lived in the Sun Dial Trailer Park in Mesa, Ariz., for many years. His wife died in 1994. He married Violet Solseng in Mesa. They moved to Pillager. She died in 1998. He lived the past year and a half at Harmony House, Bethany Good Samaritan Home and Woodhaven, all in Brainerd. He was a member of Operating Engineer Union Local No. 428 and a past member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Malcolm Theisen, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three daughters, LaVerne Cook, Bosque Farms, N.M., Juanita Bergquist, Seattle, Wash., and Deanna Bruckner, Schaumburg, Ill.; a stepson, Paul Kent, Lakewood, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Violet Hayes, Pillager, and Mary Solseng, Auburn, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
His first wife, his second wife, a stepson, Ted Kent, and a brother, J. Clifford Theisen, died earlier.
Services will be conducted at a later date.
