DULUTH - Funeral service for Loren Louis Radtke, 80, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Ziemer Moeglein Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with the Rev. Brian Birk officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at Ziemer Moeglein Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial with military honors accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Radtke died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
He was born on June 10, 1926, in Riverton, Minn., to Louis and Lydia Radtke. He grew up and attended school in Riverton. He was united in marriage to Deloris Willett on June 28, 1948. He served his country in WWII and upon his discharge he worked for the Erie/LTV mining companies until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include children, Margaret Radtke, of Duluth, G. Michael (Nancy) Radtke, of Hoyt Lakes, Donald (Mary Ann) Radtke, of Hoyt Lakes; grandchildren, Jon Johnson, Lisa (Pete) Bergherr, Cheryl Johnson, Miles (Stephanie) Larsen, Jennifer Radtke, Keith Radtke, Julie (Sean) Rash, Brian Radtke; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Virginia) Radtke, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; wife, Deloris; children, Loren and Karen; twin grandchildren, Bryan and Bradley; grandson, Marshall Larsen; and a sister, Jeanette Willett.
