Ross A. Brooks
NISSWA - Ross Alexander Brooks, age 23, resident of Nisswa, died suddenly on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007. Ross was born on April 20, 1983, in Coon Rapids, Minn. He grew up in the Brainerd area and graduated from Brainerd Senior High School in 2001. At the time of his death he was attending his second year at Central Lakes College and had received several academic awards. Ross had a lifelong love of learning, music, friends and lively discussion.
He is survived by his son, Xander Brooks, of Mazeppa, Minn.; his grandmother, Cecil McCollough, of Brainerd; his father, David "Keith" Brooks, of Circle Pines, Minn.; his mother, Mary Brooks, of Bloomington, Minn.; his brother, Colin Brooks, of Nisswa, Minn.; his uncles, Terry McCollough, of East Gull Lake, Minn., William "Buzz" McCollough, of Seattle, and Robert McCollough, of Ontario, Calif.; and many extended family.
Ross' light and laughter will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-3 p.m.
An education fund has been set up for Ross' son. Those who wish to contribute may do so at any Lakewood Bank branch office or mail a check to Lakewood Bank, P.O. Box 500, Nisswa, MN 56468.
