Architecture is next JAC Dialogue topic

AITKIN - Barden Heft, architect and artist, will moderate a Dialogue with the Arts slide show and discussion on architecture at 1 and 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jaques Art Center in Aitkin.

Eclectic exhibit slated next month

Work by Bridget Riversmith, Erica Hagstad, Cyrus Swann and other artists will be on display from Feb. 2-23 at the Eclectic Cafe in downtown Brainerd.

"The Emergency" by Bridget Riversmith is among the work that will be on display starting Feb. 2 at the Eclectic Cafe in Brainerd.

A reception will be from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 2; Duluth's Riversmith and other artists will discuss their work. Treats, crayons and paper will provided for children to create their own art.

A children's art benefit will be on Feb. 23.

Midwinter Night's Dinner planned Feb. 10

AITKIN - The annual Aitkin Friends of the Arts Midwinter Night's Dinner will be Feb. 10 at Westside Church in Aitkin.

Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. They are available at the Aitkin Independent Age or by calling (218) 549-3221.

The event will begin with a buffet dinner catered by Terry Dox, head chef at Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge.

Tenor Bruce Stasch, a 30-year veteran singer who has performed throughout the Midwest, will perform Broadway classics, accompanied by pianist Karen Hillman.
