Adrian Neher

FORT MEYERS, Fla. -- Adrian Neher, 77, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Brainerd, died Dec. 18, 2001.

He was born July 16, 1924, in Hackensack to Charlotte and Abhram Neher. He attended school in Hackensack and Backus. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine Corps in the Pacific. During his tour of duty, he saw the flag raised on Iwo Jima and was President Roosevelt's personal guard on one of his trips. He was a lifetime member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Orvetta, Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, Lester, Fresno, Calif.; two daughters, Connie Buchholz, Fort Myers, Fla., and Susan Bowen, Denver; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A sister and six brothers died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Brainerd Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Memorial services were held in Fort Myers, Fla.

Arrangements were with Horizon Funeral Home and Crematory Center in North Fort Myers, Fla.
