A 22-year-old Rogers woman died in a snowmobile accident Sunday in Crosslake, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.
At 2:23 a.m. Sunday, Crow Wing County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the snowmobile accident on Cross Lake, just off Crow Wing County Road 16 near The Wharf.
Crow Wing County Sheriff's Sgt. Tim Leonard said the victim was snowmobiling with a friend when she struck a gravel bank on the shore. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was wearing a helmet, Leonard said. The victim was riding on the snowmobile alone, Leonard said, and no one else was injured in the accident.
The Crow Wing County Coroner's Office is investigating the death.
The victim's name wasn't released Sunday night as relatives had yet to be notified of her death, the sheriff's department reported.
The victim was visiting the Crosslake area with friends for the weekend. Leonard said the victim and a friend were snowmobiling to a residence in Crosslake when the accident happened.
The Crosslake Fire Department and First Responders, North Ambulance, and the Crosslake and Breezy Point police departments assisted at the scene of the fatal accident.
