Ed Menk, President of the Downtown Businessmen's Council, presented a $400 check to Jean Roach of the Senior Citizen's Center for cooking the meal for "Breakfast with Santa" which took place Dec. 11. The Moose Lodge donated space, and Ruth Gmeinder, provided costumes for the Breakfast.

Mrs. Robert (Carol) Holloway was selected Secretary of the Year - Mrs. Holloway is employed at the Brainerd Savings and Loan.

Competing in the mixed doubles bowling league at Club La Guyal Monday, a husband and wife tandem, Burnie and Bobby Dybvik, both rolled 600's to establish some records which may stand for quite a while.

Beginning Tuesday the Crow Wing County Fourth War Loan committee will launch a campaign to dispose of $742,000 in war loan bonds to residents of the cities, towns and townships of this country.

H.A. Finch, representing the Bridgeman-Russell Company of Duluth is giving Brainerd another industry, in opening a cream station in the rear of the Britton Barber Shop, East Oak Street.

A Horseman, "Say, where is our society for the prevention of cruelty to animals? There are a few would be teamsters handling horses with heavy loads, who don't know as much about driving as the horses do themselves, apparently.
