Two Brainerd High School students pooled their change to make a bomb threat with hope of getting the day off from school.
Those details came in a news release from the Crow Wing County attorney's office Friday. The Monday bomb threat led to a school evacuation and search of the building. No bomb was found.
Brainerd Police Department reports filed with the county attorney's office requested juvenile delinquency petitions be filed against the two sophomore girls.
The students admitted to combining their change and making the bomb threat call about 8 a.m. Monday.
The county attorney's office said it filed juvenile delinquency petitions Thursday alleging the suspects engaged in making terroristic threats, a felony level offense. The names of the students, because of their ages, are not public.
