Student auditions set in Crosby for 'Hansel and Gretel'

CROSBY -- Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of "Hansel and Gretel" will be 1 to 3 p.m. Monday in the Crosby-Ironton High School Woock gymnasium.

There are roles for students in kindergarten through grade 12. Approximately 50 to 60 students will be cast to appear in the show with MCT tour actors/directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.

Students wishing to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 30 minutes after the auditions. Rehearsals are two hours long.

It is a group audition -- no advance preparation is necessary.

Rehearsals will be conducted every day next week from 3:30 to 8 p.m. in the C-I High School's Mayberry Auditorium. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week, and if selected be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the end of the auditions. Cast members scheduled for the full hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch, supper or snack.

The public performance of "Hansel and Gretel" will be 2 p.m. Jan. 25 in Mayberry Auditorium at C-I High School. The students in the cast will be called for a full rehearsal before the performance that day. All those cast must be available for all scheduled performances.

Tickets will be on sale at the door at $4 for adults and $2 for children.
